Athena Assistant
What is Athena?
Athena is your personal AI assistant built into Thinkroid Space. While the rest of the platform is built around your agent team doing work, Athena is there to help you — navigating the interface, answering questions, and handling setup tasks through a simple conversation.
Instead of hunting through menus, just tell Athena what you want to know or do. She understands the full context of your workspace: your agents, their tasks, your settings, your budget — everything.
What Athena Can Do
Query anything
Ask Athena questions about your workspace and get instant, clear answers:
- "How many tasks are currently pending?"
- "What is Alice working on right now?"
- "Which agents have gone over budget this week?"
- "Show me a summary of token usage across the team"
- "What is Bob's specialty?"
You don't need to navigate to a specific panel or remember where a particular stat lives — just ask.
Manage agents and tasks
Athena can take actions on your behalf:
- "Create a task for Bob to write a Q4 sales report"
- "Send a message to the whole team that the deadline has moved to Friday"
- "Pause Alice's current task"
- "Assign the backlog review task to the first available agent"
For any action that modifies your workspace, Athena will show you exactly what it's about to do and ask for your confirmation before proceeding.
Change settings
Need to adjust how the system behaves?
- "Set the idle loop interval to 30 seconds"
- "Increase the token budget for the research department"
- "Turn off cost reporting for Bob"
Athena handles the navigation so you don't have to.
Onboard new agents
The system starts with no pre-installed agents — you build your team from scratch. Hiring involves several steps: selecting a template (or starting blank), naming the agent, setting a persona, choosing a model, configuring capabilities, and assigning skills. Athena guides you through the entire process in a natural conversation. She asks the right questions, explains your options, and handles the configuration once you've decided.
The Athena Panel
Open Athena from the sidebar icon. The panel is a chat interface — type your message and press Enter, or use the voice input if you prefer speaking.
Athena supports full markdown in her responses, so when she gives you a table, a list, or a comparison, it's properly formatted and easy to read.
The conversation history stays active for your current session. If you close and reopen the panel, Athena remembers what you were discussing.
Interactive Options
When Athena offers choices — like selecting a model for a new agent, or choosing between two approaches — the options appear as clickable cards below her response. Just click the one you want rather than typing it out.
This makes multi-step workflows much smoother. You're making decisions, not filling out forms.
Approval for Write Actions
Whenever Athena is about to create, modify, or delete something in your workspace, she pauses and shows you a confirmation prompt. You'll see:
- What action is about to happen
- Which agent or resource is affected
- A brief summary of why
Click Approve to proceed or Deny to cancel. Athena never makes changes silently.
Tips for Getting the Best Results
Be specific. "Create a task for Alice to analyze Q4 sales data from the reports folder and write a one-page summary" works much better than "do some analysis." The more context you give, the more precisely Athena can act.
Ask questions before acting. If you're not sure who's available or what's already in progress, ask Athena first. "Who is available right now?" or "Is there already a task for this?" takes two seconds and can save you from duplicating work.
Use Athena for onboarding. The hiring wizard through Athena is significantly easier than doing it manually. Let her walk you through it.
Athena remembers context within a session. You can refer back to earlier parts of the conversation. "Use the same settings as the last agent I hired" will work as long as you're in the same session.
When in doubt, just ask. Athena is a good first stop for anything you're unsure about — whether it's a "how do I..." question or a "what's going on with..." question.
Panel Navigation
When Athena suggests an action that involves a specific part of the interface, she will automatically open the relevant panel for you. For example, if she recommends hiring a new agent, the Hire panel opens directly. If she suggests reviewing pending approvals, the Approvals panel opens. This works across all 21 panels in the system — you never have to hunt for where something lives.
